The very first PGA TOUR Tournament in Japan, ZOZO CHAMPION SHIP will take place on October 24th, 2019. The world’s best players including Tiger Woods will be competing for a total prize money of $9.75 million (approximately ¥1.1 billion*), which is the highest in Japan’s golf history. There will be a total of 78 players participating in the tournament. Other than the 60 players from PGA TOUR, top 7 players* from JGTO (Japan Golf Tour Organization), top 3 players from Bridgestone open 2019 and 8 special exemptions from ZOZO will be competing.

The “PGA TOUR” is known for the PGA TOUR tournaments held all of the world for over 50 years, as well as the golf tournament organization hosting these tournaments. Every year since 1993, the “PGA TOUR” has had at least one member from Japan on its membership roster, and there has been a total of 18 Japanese players who have held PGA TOUR membership until this day. There are 2 Japanese players, Hideki Matsuyama and Satoshi Kodaira who are “PGA TOUR” members for 2019-2020 season. The player’s performances’ on the FedExCup points standing or Tour money list will determine the membership on the PGA TOUR. In addition, players also have the opportunity to become PGA TOUR members in the coming year, if they pull off a win in a PGA TOUR tournament as an invited player. PGA TOUR represent the world’s best players, and broadcasted to 226 countries and territories. PGA TOUR engages, inspires and positively impacts our fans, partners and communities worldwide.
